[Octopus-users] How to install cvs version

Dear octopus authors and users,

     I apologize to everybody for twice email a day.  I tried to install 
the cvs version of octopus, so I downloaded it from cvs (and also got 
octopus-night.tar.gz from the website).  However, I couldn't figure out 
how to install it.  It doesn't have configure executable file to start 
to install.  Should I cover it with octopus-1.4?  Actually, I tried to 
mix together cvs version and 1.4 but still couldn't get successful 
compilation.  Can I ask how to install a newest version of octopus?
