[Octopus-users] Compilation with AIX 5 compiler

Dear Octopus developpers,

I would like to add some questions about the use of 64-bit
mode in Octopus.

My first question is: In C programs "int" is 4 byte length,
while in Fortran "integer" is promoted to 8 bytes when 64-bit
mode is used. If this applies to the current version of Octopus,
there occurs inconsistency in the 64-bit mode. Is this the case
with Octopus?

The second but independent question is: PGI compiler supports
the mode in which only the addressing part is 64 bit but other
variables and constants remain 32 bit length. Can we safely
use this mode with the PGI compiler?

Best regards,
Motohiko Tanaka
