Application of Reinforcement Learning to the Quantum Optimal Control Problem

Abstract: In this bachelor thesis, I want to find a new way to solve the quantum optimal control problem using reinforcement learning methods. As example, I will use one of the paradigm problems in physics, the harmonic oscillator. In the beginning, I will derive the standard optimal control problem and use it to solve the quantum harmonic oscillator. Then I will explain the basics of reinforcement learning and I will try again to solve the harmonic oscillator.
